Off the rails: Aviation's role in climate change is causing a storm
Article Abstract:
Growth in aviation emissions is likely to cause havoc in attempts to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions if left unchecked because in Britain alone the airlines' emissions are growing by around 7% each year. The European Commission has announced that by 2011 it plans to include domestic flights in its carbon emissions trading scheme followed by intercontinental flights the year after, which is a critical first step towards a future in which consumers will have to pay for the environmental cost of flying.

Murder by medicine
Article Abstract:
Several residents of Cambodia are turning into victims of the trade in counterfeit drugs and bogus products that often contain no active ingredients, or the wrong ones. Plant-disease controls sap outbreak responses
Article Abstract:
The concern expressed by microbiologists in the U.S. over the proposal by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is reviewed. Microbiologists state that the plan to subject rice and citrus disease agents to same limitation as Ebola virus and anthrax are poorly planned and would curb reaction to a natural outbreak.
