Parasite-induced change in host behaviour and susceptibility to predation in an eye fluke-fish interaction
Article Abstract:
An examination on whether Diplostomum spathaceum eye flukes change the preference of fish for the surface layers of the water column or their escape behavior, which could make the fish more vulnerable to predation by bird hosts, is presented. Infected and control fish did not differ in their preference for the surface layers, though infected fish showed less escape behavior when a black plate was drawn over the water surface.

Spatial parameters encoded in the spatial map of the blind Mexican cave fish, Astyanax fasciatus
Article Abstract:
The transformational approach is used to test whether the blind Mexican cavefish can encode shape and size in an internal representation of space. Results reveal that blind Mexican cavefish could detect both geometric transformations and topographical transformations and hence encode size and possibly also shape within their spatial maps.

Is there a fish alarm cue? affirming evidence from a wild study
Article Abstract:
Laboratory and field studies have demonstrated that most aquatic taxa show antipredator responses to chemical alarm cues. A study of the Ostariophysan fish reveals that ostariophysan skin indeed contains an alarm cue that informs nearby prey of imminent predation risk and induces some form of antipredator behaviour in most contexts.
