Pass the protein
Article Abstract:
The structure of an intermediate protein complex that forms during the process of attaching ubiquitin-like proteins (UBLs) to proteins is analyzed to provide insights into the mechanism by which UBLs act in cell-signalling pathways. A structural model of an E2-E3 complex, where E2 and E3 are enzymes, is proposed in which there is a large gap between the active cysteine of E2 and the substrate that is bound to E3.

A bacterial dynamin-like protein
Article Abstract:
The crystal structure of cyanobacterial dynamin-like proteins (DLPs) in both nucleotide-free and GDP-associated conformation is investigated. The results have presented structural and mechanistic insight that are relevant across the dynamin superfamily and has shown compelling similarity between a cyanobacterial and chloroplast DLP that questions the evolutionary origins of dynamins.
