University challenge for Britain
Article Abstract:
British universities require sustained public investment to sustain their level of research. However, political pressures compel the government to limit spending on such projects. Facing global competition, more finances need to be pumped to develop talent and physical resources to promote economic progress. Although private sponsorships have been promoted through the Private Finance Initiative, creative thinking is required to achieve the broader scientific objectives.
