Quake shuts world's largest nuclear plant

The earthquakes in Japan have sparked fears that neither its nuclear facilities nor its nuclear safety evaluation system can handle the seismic activity that troubles the country. The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant is shut down indefinitely. The reactor leaked radioactive cooling water into the sea and gas into the atmosphere.
