The PerR transcription factor senses H2O2 by metal-catalyzed histidine oxidation
Article Abstract:
A demonstration that PerR senses peroxides by metal-catalyzed oxidation is presented. PerR contains two metal-binding sites, a structural Zn(super 2+) site and a regulatory divalent metal ion site that preferentially bind Fe(super 2+) or Mn(super 2+).

Let's twist again
Article Abstract:
Researchers have provided evidence for chiral magnetic order in a strikingly simple solid-state system, a single layer of manganese atoms on a tungsten substrate. The results have illustrated some unusual mesoscopic-scale magnetic textures.

Schizophrenic electrons
Article Abstract:
The article discusses a high-temperature superconductor, yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO). The YBCO exhibit electron pockets created by reconstruction of the Fermi surface through a density wave.
