The artist as neuroscientist
Article Abstract:
The artistic licence taps into simplified alternative physics used by our brain to recognize everyday scenes in paintings. The discrepancies between the real world and the world depicted by artists reveal as much about the brain within us as the artist reveals about the world around us and by discovering alternative physics, the artists act as research neuroscientists.
