The big splash
Article Abstract:
The Asteroid impact data analysis of the Polarstern expedition in the Antarctic Ocean is an exciting development in meteorology. Three piston cores from the deep ocean basin at depths 2,707 meters, 3,965 meters and 4,961 meters all appear to have been involved in an impact 2.5 million years ago, spreading several kilometers in distance. A piece of the Eltanin meteorite was found in one of the cores.
