The circumsporozoite protein is an immunodominant protective antigen in irradiated sporozoites
Article Abstract:
The circumsporozoite protein (CS) transgenic mice, which are tolerant to CS T-cell epitopes, are produced to study the role of non-CS antigens in protection. The protection induced by immunization with two doses of irradiated sporozoites (IrSp) is greatly reduced in the absence of T-cell dependent immune response to CS, but sterile immunity can be obtained by immunization of CS transgenics with three doses of IrSp.

Optimization of specificity in a cellular protein interaction network by negative selection
Article Abstract:
Negative domain-ligand selection can have a powerful function in optimizing protien interaction network specificity. The power of negative selection has previously been recognized in immunology.
