Trans-SNARE pairing can precede a hemifusion intermediate in intracellular membrane fusion
Article Abstract:
The first hemifusion state for soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein disorder (SNARE)- dependant fusion of native membranes is identified and placed into a sequence of molecular events. The result suggests that a common lipid intermediate might underlie all fusion reactions of lipid bilayers.

Making faces in the brain
Article Abstract:
Activating the right neurons artificially at the right time are found to cause visual perception of a face. The studies on the inferior temporal cortex (IT) have shown that such neurons directly underlie the recognition of complex objects.
