Characterization of multiple-substrate utilization by anthracene-degrading Mycobacterium frederiksbergense LB501T
Article Abstract:
Results reveal that Mycobacterium frederiksbergense LB501T can degrade anthracene in the presence of glucose. Data indicate that substrate mixture containing higher levels of anthracene leads to higher cell surface hydrophobicities and more-hydrophobic mycolic acids. Research suggests that feeding additional carbon substrates may promote bioremediation by M. frederiksbergense LB501T.

Real-time reverse transcription-PCR analysis of expression of halobenzoate and salicylate catabolism-associated operons in two strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain JB2 and strain 142 conain the same halobenzoate 1,2-dioxygenase and chlorocatechol degradation operons mediating the metabolism of ortho-chlorobenzoates. Data suggest that other factors, besides the enzyme specificity is involved in the metabolism of the chlorobenzoates in the two organisms.

Impact of alginate conditioning film on deposition kinetics of motile and nonmotile pseudomonas aeruginosa strains
Article Abstract:
Study is conducted to understand the effect of a conditioning film on the deposition of motile and nonmotile Pseudomonas aeruginosa cells in a radial stagnation point flow system. It demonstrates that bacterial deposition is highly influenced by cell motility and the structure of the conditioning film.
