Toxicity of some Fusarium section Sporotrichiella strains in relation to mycotoxin production
Article Abstract:
The toxicity of selected Fusarium strains depends on the biological activity of the metabolites they produce. This was based on the results of the investigation done on some Fusarium strains section Sporotrichiella. Results ofbioassays showed that the toxicity of each particular strain tested was due to the metabolites each produced. Major mycotoxins produced were tricothecenes with visoltricin and chlamydosporol as secondary metabolites. Toxicity of each strain was based on its activity against Artemia salina larvae and to the blastogenic response of human and bovine lymphocytes.

Analysis of expressed sequence tag data and gene expression profiles involved in conidial germination of Fusarium oxysporum
Article Abstract:
Expressed sequence tag (EST) sequencing of Fusarium oxysporum and used cDNA arrays to analyze gene expression of profiles during the conidial germination process to highlight asexual filamentous fungus at the molecular level during fungal development. It showed that ras and other signaling genes, cooperatively initiate conidial germination of Fusarium by increasing protein synthesis.
