Molecular analysis and expression of the extracellular lipase of Aeromonas hydrophila MCC-2
Article Abstract:
The molecular structure and biochemical properties of the extracellular lipase of Aeromonas hydrophila were analyzed by constructing a cloned gene, lip, in Escherichia coli JA221 strain. Analysis of the biochemical characteristics of lip indicated the presence of a lip gene product that was encoded by an open reading frame (ORF) of 2253 bp. The ORF coded for a protein of 751 amino acids corresponding to 79.9 kDa polypeptide.

Cloning and sequence analysis of a novel hemolysin gene (vllY) from Vibrio vulnificus
Article Abstract:
Cloning and sequence analysis were conducted on Vibrio vulnificus gene vllY. A 40kda peptide was observed when vllY was expressed in minicells. Results reveal that the VIIY protein's amino acid sequence was very similar to that of legiolysin. Southern blotting and PCR screening of Vibrio vulnificus strains also show that vllY-like genes are present in all Vibrio vulnificus clinical isolates.

Identification and characterization of the three chitin-binding domains within the multidomain chitinase Chi92 from Aeromonas hydrophila JP101
Article Abstract:
The Chi92 chitinase from Aeromonas hydrophila JP101 has three chitin-binding domains: Chi92-N, ChBD(sub CI), and ChBD(sub CII). In addition to these domains, the 842-residue enzyme contains a family 18 catalytic domain and a region called the A region that has no known function. The enzyme was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli.
