Molecular variation of Adh and P6 genes in an African population of Drosophilamelanogaster and its relation to chromosomal inversions
Article Abstract:
A study analyzed the four-cutter polymorphism of Adh and P6 and chromosome inversion polymorphism of chromosome II in 95 isogenic lines of an Ivory Coast population of Drosophila melanogaster, a species that is presumed to have spread throughout the world from a West African source. The P6 exhibited connection disequilibrium with In(2L)t inversion through it is found inside this inversion, hinting that the inversion and the P6 locus have traded genetic information through double crossover or gene conversion.

The 3' regulatory region of the Abdominal-B gene: genetic analysis supports a model of reiterated and interchangeable regulatory elements
Article Abstract:
Researchers isolated a new mutation, called Abdominal-B Corset (Abd-B Corset), which is the result of deletion that leaves 15kb of the more removed 3' regulatory sequences exactly next to the gene, but withdraws 45 Kb of the more removed 3' regulatory factors. The study has informed a construct of the 3' regulatory area of Abd-13 founded on reiterated cell type-specific factors determined by position-sensitive stimulating factors next to it.

Molecular characteristization and rescue of acatalasemic mutants of Drosophilamelanogaster
Article Abstract:
Researchers carried out the molecular characterization of the Drosophila catalase gene and two potentially acatalasemic alleles to examine the controlling and function of catalase. An allele Cat(n4) likely in existence, possibly has a null mutation that impedes normal translation of the encoded mRNA. The deadlines of the genotypes studied is because of the absence of catalase.
