Resolving the genetic paradox in invasive species
Article Abstract:
Kolbe investigated the genetic dilemma by surveying mtDNA diversity in 71 native and 59 introduced populations of the invasive brow inole lizard, Anolis sagrei from Cuba. Kolbe's work has implications for controlling invasive species and for predicting the risk of introducing species that become invasive.

A study of association between genetic markers in candidate genes and reproductive traits in one generation of a commercial broiler breeder hen population
Article Abstract:
A study of candidate genes of a commercial broiler breeder hen for reproductive traits is given. The results propose that neuropeptide Y (NPY) gene might produce markers for the age of the onset of lay and, through its role in the control of ovulation, influence egg production rate.

Geographic origin and taxonomic status of the invasive Privet, Ligustrum robustum (Oleaceae), in the Mascerene islands, determined by chloroplast DNA and RAPDs
Article Abstract:
A study to determine the origin of invasive Ligustrum robustum in the Mascarene Islands is given. The results propose that naturalized material of L. robustum in the Mascarene Islands is derived from the Sri Lankan subspecies L. robustum ssp. walkeri.
