Synergistic cooperation of TFE3 and Smad proteins in TGF-beta-induced transcription of the plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 gene
Article Abstract:
Synergistic cooperation of Smad and TFE3 proteins is a factor in TGF-beta-induced transcription of the inhibitor-1 gene, which is a plasminogen activator. A novel retrovirus-mediated expression cloning strategy has been developed and used to establish that TFE3, or transcription factor muE3, has a role in the activation of the PAI-1 promoter by TGF-beta.
