How to Do Your Own Market Research to Learn about Customers and Competitors
Article Abstract:
Marketing research is the initial step to business success. It is a way in which customers, competition and products can be learned about. Many business owners feel market research is too costly for them. Economical researching can be done in-house, however. In-house research can facilitate planning and the protection of one's market position. Steps in doing marketing research include beginning early and knowing what information is being sought. Research sources such as libraries and advertising agencies are described.

Selecting an Auditor: Times Have Changed
Article Abstract:
Accounting is becoming more competitive and firms are marketing their services more aggressively. This competition can greatly benefit the firm that knows what services it needs and has some criteria regarding selection of an auditor. A variety of services is being offered ranging from consulting to compilations and reviews. In selecting a firm, reputation, assigned personnel, services, expertise, independence and fees should all be evaluated. An illustration of a request for audit service proposals is included.
