Jobless rate fell to 5.4% in April

A US Labor Department survey in April 1996 shows that unemployment dropped from 5.6% in March to 5.4%. Job growth was only by 2,000, most of which were public employment, but the number of people seeking work dropped. 126.10 million people were employed in April 1996.
