Personal income was flat in August

Personal income remained almost unchanged from July, although after-tax income dropped by 0.1% in Aug. Consumer spending increased in Aug by 0.8%. Other indicators of the economy include new home sales which dipped 9.6% from July to Aug, and farm produce prices which was upped by 2.9%.

Producer prices were flat in March

The Producer Price Index did not change from Feb 1995 to Mar 1995, but was up 1.6% from Mar 1994 levels. The index was 126.9% of its 1982 base level. The lack of change signifies an economic slowdown without inflation, and price stability, according to analysts.
