Granada's pretax profit rises 13% to $1.22 billion

Britain's Granada Group posted a pretax profit increase of 13% to 735 million pound sterling from a year ago. The company's operating businesses include hotels, restaurant chains, broadcasting and electronic goods rental. Of the four, the rental business was the only division that was slowing down. Granada predicts a continued growth in revenue for 1998, which is expected to match a 10% increase in 1998 to 3.98 billion pound.
