In spite of the substantial economic gains of 20% according to the 2003 stock market reports, the new defined benefit pension plans keeps the sponsors of the pension funds and other retirement benefits much worried for several reasons. According to the defined benefit pension plans, benefits are paid basing on the time period an employee has worked in the organization and the amount of salary he has been paid.
