U.S., Vietnam expand diplomatic ties
Article Abstract:
Vietnam and the US agreed to establish diplomatic relations on Jan 28, 1995. Each country will have a diplomat and office in the other country's capital. The US hopes this will lead to Vietnamese cooperation into the investigation of US soldiers missing in action in Vietnam.

Vietnam turns over photos of American servicemen
Article Abstract:
The government of Vietnam agreed to provide the US government with photographs, documents and personal items of US military personnel who fought in the Vietnam War. Some 2,266 troops are unaccounted for in Southeast Asia.

Pres Clinton reopened full diplomatic relations with Vietnam on Jul 11, 1995, pleasing business leaders eager to do business with the country. Bob Dole and other conservative Republicans denounced the move, however.
