U.S. trade body rejects steel tariffs
Article Abstract:
The International Trade Commission lifted 40 of the 72 temporary tariffs imposed on steel imports by the Commerce Dept. The stock prices of US steel companies fell after the announcement was made on Jul 27, 1993. Most foreign officials approved of the announcement.

U.S. sets tariffs on steel imports
Article Abstract:
The Commerce Dept raised tariffs on steel imports from 19 countries from an average of 27% to an average of 36.5% on Jun 22, 1993. The agency was responding to US steel firms, which complained that foreign firms were engaging in the practice of dumping.
