Weider plans revamp, hires 2 from Hachette

Fitness magazine publisher Weider Publications Inc. hired two executives away from competitor Hachette Filipacchi Magazines. Weider also created new positions, Publishing Director, for each of its titles, all to better compete for ad dollars as new fitness magazines hit newsstands and mailboxes. The Woodland Hills, Calif., publisher is a unit of Weider Health & Fitness Corp. Titles it publishes include Shape, Men's Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Flex and Natural Health.

Time, Simon Property Group to publish magazine targeted at mall shoppers
Article Abstract:
In a marketing alliance between Time Inc. and Simon Property Group Inc. the two plan to publish a new magazine called S marketed directly to Simon's mall shoppers. Terms were not disclosed. Time's staff of 30 editors and fact-checkers will have sole editorial control and Simon will sell the advertising.
