A case of the DTs
Article Abstract:
Privatization has spread from UK to continental Europe over recent years, but there are now indications that future privatizations may encounter difficulties. The easy privatizations have been completed, and now European governments must handle more complex deals. Privatization has a generally poor image in Europe, and this will make it hard to sell off remaining state assets. It is vital that privatization does not fail if Europe is to shake off the burden of weak state firms.

The tyranny of the party line: European telecoms
Article Abstract:

Polish off the family silver: European privatisation
Article Abstract:
Privatization of European companies went much slower in 1995 than expected, with less than half of the expected $50 billion in sales being raised. Still the outlook for 1996 and the next few years is very optimistic, as sales of $250-300 billion have been estimated.
