ALIND MAKES ANTI-SPARK GADGET FOR RYS
Article Abstract:
Aluminium Industries Limited (Alind) has developed a new relay in association with RDSO, Lucknow, to control undesirable overhead sparks in electric railway lines. The product, priced at Rs20,000 per unit, has been developed by the relays division of Alind which is involved in the manufacture of static relays and panels for power systems protection. The new pentoflashover protection relay, branded TVG 124, can be used to tackle the heavy falshovers at insulated overlaps (IOL) which occur at traction substations when locomotives pass through the same with one line being live and the other dead. Alind has estimated to sell around 500 units of the relay to the Railways. (gsh)
