The Triballat and Bongrain cheese companies produce 20,000 tonnes of cheese in Argentina and make US$ 32mn in turnover, and they acquired Nestle's activities in Argentina in 1999. The Danone group makes a turnover of US$ 600mn there in its three basic businesses: Danone brand dairy products, Villa del Sur and Villavicencio brands of mineral water, and Bagley brand biscuits. There is also the Perrier Vittel mineral water group which has formed a joint-venture with the Quilmes group. They invested US$ 100mn in order to launch Eco de los Andes mineral water. Perrier Vittel handles production in the Mendoza region and marketing, and the Quilmes group handles distribution and sales.
