Analysts in Indonesia are banking on Bunas Finance
Article Abstract:
Securities traders in Indonesia are buying heavily into Bunas Finance due to the high growth exhibited by the lending firm, which has averaged 50% in annual revenue increases. Share prices for Bunas has increased by as much as 74% since June 1996, and has significantly overataken the gains made by the Jakarta stock market, which only posted an 8.1% gain in the same period. Jakarta stock market observers are however wary of the continued profitability of the company, with bad debts as the main concern. The firm's average annual asset growth of 64% in the past five years will be difficult to maintain due to the size of its assets estimated at 1.2 trillion rupiah.

Investors return to Indonesia
Article Abstract:
Domestic and foreign investors in Jakarta's stock markets are waging relentless efforts in pursuing already written-off securities, after the Indonesian currency showed signs of growth and stability during the early week of April 1996. Statistics revealed that the Jakarta index increased by 12% prompting a major rally among investors. Analysts believe the stock surge was caused by dollar-denominated debts incurred by foreign companies.
