Austria: OECD's report
Article Abstract:
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) report on Austria has included recommendations for reform of the budget, taxes and pensions. The report praises Austria's economic policy and expects a budget deficit of 0.5% of GNP. Child support money is criticised because it is expected to have a negative influence on the hours that parents work. It is recommended that the post office monopoly on letter delivery should be abolished as soon as possible, and that in the cartel legislation, companies which work with the regulator should be penalised less.
