Bonnie Cashmin
Article Abstract:
Bonnie Cashmin was a fashion designer who created the new look in the US in the 1950s, using layers of clothing. She was influenced by Japanese fashion. She did not have formal training as a fashion designer, but designed dresses for a ballet company while she was still a schoolgirl. She was generous, and her attitude mirrored the way that fashion sees clothing as disposable. Men tend to wear garments until they are old, but women like to replace their garments constantly.
