Autopal (Novy Jicin, Czech Republic), car component manufacturer, supplied goods worth 52 mil USD to its parent firm Visteon Automotive Systems (VAS) in 1998. The supplies represented about 65% of the firm's total sales. Autopal is a part of the concern Ford Motor Company (FMC) (US) through VAS. FMC bought car components worth a total of 147 mil USD in the Czech Republic and exported goods worth 131 mil USD to the Czech market in 1998. FMC was to acquire the car company Skoda (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), which has been renamed to Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic) and has become a part of the concern Volkswagen (Germany). FMC was to assemble Ford Escort cars at Skoda.

Skoda Klatovy has been awarded a contract in Sweden
Article Abstract:
Skoda Klatovy (SK) (Klatovy, Czech Republic), engineering company, has been awarded a contract worth 193 mil Kc in Sweden. SK will supply a roll furnace for the thermal processing of plates and sheets with a capacity of 30 t per hour to SSAB Oxeloesund (Sweden). The furnace will become a part of a fully automated line. SK is a subsidiary of the concern Skoda Plzen (Plzen, Czech Republic).
