Saatchi aims to raise profit margins

Saatchi & Saatchi PLC has set 12% as its new target for overall profit margin growth by the end of the 2001 year. The advertising agency announced its new profit targets after it posted 13.2 million pound sterling (19.9 million euros) in operating profits for the first-half of 1999. Saatchi's new profit target compares to its 1995 target of 5.3%. The agency reported 13.8 million pound sterling in pretax profits for the first-half.

Saatchi awarded Sony ad account for Europe market

Saatchi & Saatchi has been awarded a contract by Sony Europe to run advertising for the company's consumer electronics operations throughout the European region. Sony Europe's consumer electronic business includes televisions, camcorders, and other products. Estimated billings are approximately $80 million (75 million euros) annually. This is based on Sony Europe's present advertising spending.
