DELL TO SET UP 100% SUBSIDIARY IN INDIA

Dell Computer Corporation (DCC), a US-based computer company with 8.8 percent world market share, is floating a 100 percent subsidiary in India. The subsidiary is expected to be up by the end of 1999. DCC will make an initial investment of $8 million to $10 million in the subsidiary. Currently DCC has only a liaison office in Bangalore. The company products are sold through 10 distributors across the country, including Tata Infotech. (um)(psr)
