Article Abstract:

Vestergaard has introduced the Elephant Mega-My aircraft de-icer. The 750- liter tank configuration is intended for the US market. It is mounted on a Freightliner FC80 chassis and powered by a Cummins ISB diesel engine with an Allison MD 3060 transmission system. The de-icing equipment is powered from a PTO from the vehicle's engine and is controlled by PLC technology. Another new product from Vestergaard is the MVTS medium-vacuum lavatory servicer.

Doll launches deicing truck

Article Abstract:

Doll Fahrzeugbau, a leading German manufacturer of deicing vehicles, has unveiled Polarstar II, a vehicle designed to carry out remote deicing operations. Polarstar II is the smaller version of Polarstar I and is equipped with features to assist flexible deicing operations on the airfield. The vehicle is capable of operating close to take-off runways and has a tank capacity of 8,000 liters, of which half is water and half deicing fluid capacity.

Bucher makes a clean sweep

Article Abstract:

Bucher-Schorling of Germany has launched the P21a towed snow sweeper in 1999. The high capacity blower/exhauster is designed for runway snow removal. It is more powerful than the firm's P17 sweeper range and has the ability to operate at speeds up to 50 km/hr. In close collaboration with the Swedish civil aviation authority, Bucher-Schorling also created the P25. Stockholm Arlanda is operating five units while Malmo Sturup is operating three.
