DENMARK: WORST POWER CUT SO FAR

Some customers will not get electricity until by the end of this week, and will thus be affected by power cuts for a week. So says Nesa's, the Zealand-based electricity company's, information manager Lone Rasmussen, and adds that the hurricane a few days ago caused the most extensive interruption in electricity supplies experienced by Nesa so far. At the peak of the hurricane, on Friday evening 3 December, about 55,000 households were affected by power cuts, according to Nesa, which has about 1mn customers.

DENMARK: REDUCED SUPPLEMENTARY PAYMENTS

MD Foods will reduce supplementary payment to milk suppliers to DKr 0.1233 per kilo milk from DKr 0.1527 last year, according to the board's proposal, which has to be approved by the committee of representatives. Average supplementary payment to the suppliers will then be DKr 51,000 (USD 7,100). The paper writes that this reduction is a consequence of the merger between MD Foods and Klover Maelk.
