Telecom Italia SpA's shares,which traded below 8 euro last month, closed at 12.8 euro after reaching as high as 14.1 last week. The company's shares surged after chief executive Roberto Colaninno outraged investors and abandoned a controversial plan to spin off the Italian phone company's wireless unit. The stock of the wireless unit Telecom Italia Mobile SpA , which traded below 6 euro, has increased to 9.63.
