Free beer after a month of surfing with HKNet's new pricing scheme
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong Internet access providers have engaged in price wars to capture a larger segment of Hong Kong Internet users. Upstart HKNet's pricing package is competing with the services of larger Internet providers Hong Kong Telecommunications and Asia On-Line. HKNet's HK$108/month charge is topped off by a 90 cents per hour of surfing, compared to the HK$2.52 per hour of surfing charged by the other companies. Aside from the savings in surfing, HKNet also distributes Internet software on CD-ROM for subscribers to its HK$150 plan and a free WisdomPen Chinese handwriting recognition kit for a one-year subscription.
