Harrod & Mirlin turn over agency reins
Article Abstract:
The founders of Canadian advertising agency Harrod and Mirlin/FCB are transfering management control of the shop to its president, Peter Shier, and to creative director Brent Peterson. Brian Harrod has announced his departure from the agency when his contract expires in 2001. Ian Mirlin, on the other hand, has already left the agency to run a branch office called H and M/FCB South in Toronto, Ontario. Shier has made it a priority to get Harrod and Mirlin into the interactive market.

Harrod & Mirlin culture fades away
Article Abstract:
The influence of Brian Harrod and Ian Mirlin on the corporate culture and environment of FCB Toronto is expected to fade with the end of their contracts with Chicago-based FCB. The two were the founders of Harrod & Mirlin which had merged with FCB Toronto. Two other members of the agency's management team have already resigned. New FCB Toronto pres Peter Shier said only a few changes were implemented since his appointment in January.

As of Dec 200, the company employs a staff of 240, and manintains offices in Toronto, Ontario, and Montreal, Quebec. The agency, an affiliate of FCB Worldwide, has four divisions, including marketing Drive Worldwide, TN media, FCB Direct and Generations Research, In 1999, the firm posted revenues of $32.2 million.
