Factions reach agreement on Hungarian media law
Article Abstract:
Agreement on the Hungarian Media Law has been reached by the six political parties. Operational licenses for two TV stations and one radio station will be offered on a concession basis. Central European Media Enterprises BV (CME) has recently been awarded a licence for a metropolitan Budapest TV frequency though 2002 Kft, its Hungarian joint venture, and 2002 is keen to secure an licence for one of the national frequencies.

CME backs new radio sales network in Czech Republic
Article Abstract:
Advertising sales company Sun Radio Network, run by France's IP sales house, is losing many of its regional radio stations in the Czech Republic because they are establishing their own sales unit. The new firm, Media Marketing Services (MMS), will be owned jointly by the 15 radio stations and is backed by Central European Media Enterprises Ltd.. It is expected that MMS will have a turnover of up to $7.5 million during 1996.
