The odd couple: Matra and Hachette
Article Abstract:
The financially-troubled French media giant Hachette is seeking to raise capital by merging with the cash-rich defense firm Matra. If the merger goes through, Matra-Hachette will have to sell off over 1 billion francs in assets to reduce its heavy debt load.
