MOLEX TO INVEST $5-7 MILLION IN ITS INDIAN OPERATIONS

Molex (India) Ltd, a 100 percent subsidiary of the world's second largest connector company, Molex Inc of the US, plans to invest $5-7 million in domestic operations in the next 2-3 years. It has recently acquired a 51 percent stake in Mafatlal Micron and incorporated it as a separate joint venture called Molex Mafatlal Micron Ltd. Molex has decided to concentrate on three segments in India - consumer electronics, structured cabling and telecommunications. (khr)

MoF SETS $1-BN CAP ON VIDESHI-AIDED RE LOANS

The ceiling on rupee loans got with the help of foreign companies has been raised to $1 billion by the Finance Ministry of the Government of India. This move is aimed at enabling the Indian companies to mobilise loans from local sources in a flexible manner. The companies opting for this structure will not be able to raise funds through syndicated loans. These companies will have to issue bonds to the lenders. (ag)
