Mind games
Article Abstract:
Research done by Antonio Damaso shows that consumers' decisions are split between reason and emotion. Damaso, head of the Neurology Dept at the University of Iowa, added that reason analyzes the choices but the emotions are needed to understand the personal benefits. On the other hand, Curtis Van Voorhees, a University of Michigan professor, shows that the mind works at the conscious and subconscious levels. The former is involved with perception, association, evaluation and decision. The latter records and stores an individual's subjective interpretation of reality.

Safeguarding investments and creation of transaction value in asymmetric international subcontracting relationships: the role of relationship learning and relational capital
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigate how suppliers who do not have bargaining power to protect relationship-specific investments (RSIs) can use safeguarding mechanisms in creating transaction value. It is hypothesized that RSIs can enhance relationship learning that can facilitate dyadic capability enhancing. Findings show that the relationship between RSIs and dyadic capability enhancing is mediated by relationship learning.
