Netcom expected to recover pace after tax stumble
Article Abstract:
Netcom SA of Norway is anticipated by local analysts to regain an advance in stock bolstered by gains in telecommunications shares across Europe. The mobile-telephone operator saw an interruption in the strong upward growth of its shares in 1998 due to reports that the government may impose taxes on its frequency bands. Analysts state that any taxes would not have a significant damage on the earnings of the firm. Netcom is anticipated to become a different type of firm in five years, making better use of software enhancing capacity for existing frequencies, thus limiting exposure to any taxes.
