New Bell 427B
Article Abstract:
Bell Helicopter is developing a redesign of the Model 427 which will include changes to the main raotor system to meet single-pilot IFR certification requirements needed to increase sales. The new Model 427B will feature a dual swashplate driver, an improved rotor system and a 227 kg gross weight increase. However, it may take 18months to two years to develop and attain IFR certification because Bell has faced major problems with the US Federal Aviation Administration.

Dragon Warrior evaluation
Article Abstract:
Two Sikorsky Dragon Warrior Vertical Take Off/Landing Unmanned Air Vehicle (VTUAV) demonstrators were delivered to the US Marine Corps for evaluation at the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. The Performance of the Dragon Warrior is expected to include a maximum speed of 232 km/h and a range of up to 185 km. Sikorsky is providing the two prototypes under a contract worth $5.5 million, which includes an option for an additional 10 aircraft.

New helicopter UAV
Article Abstract:
Northrop Grumman Corp and Schweizer Aircraft Corp have started conducting a series of unmanned air vehicle test flights in a facility in San Diego, CA. A modified Schweizer 330 airframe equipped with autonomous flight control and avionics software based on the Northrop Grumman Global Hawk UAV development and the Schweizer/Kawada 300C remote-piloted helicopter program is being used in these flight tests.
