Outsourcing the law: transfer of undertakings regulations (TUPE) haunt outsourcing
Article Abstract:
A proposed amendment to the Acquired Rights Directive, the EC parent of Transfer of Undertakings regulations (TUPE), relates to the contracting out by a company of its own internal services which does not fall within the scop of TUPE. It will fall within the scope if it is an economic entity retaining its identity however.

France is considering leaving the European exchange-rate mechanism (ERM) after seeing the UK's economy rise after it was thrown out of the ERM. However, in reality, the UK's economic growth began before it left the ERM and has continued regardless of membership in the system.
