P&G works out the wrinkles

Procter and Gamble Co has launched a product demonstration for its Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray in the urban cores of Toronto, Ontario, Calgary, Alberta, and Montreal, Quebec. The marketing effort, which will run until Nov 24, 2000, is being implemented by three sets of twins who will be roaming shopping malls. The twins, one dressed in a wrinkled sweater and the other wearing a sweater ironed by the company's Downy Winkle Releaser, will approach the target demographic, women, ages 20 to 30, and demonstrate the product.

Burnaby, British Columbia-based Telus has launched an advertising campaign to promote its Telus stores in Alberta and British Columbia as ideal gift shops for the 2000 holiday season. The campaign, called 'Communicating clearly is important,' focuses on the empowering benefits of telecommunication technology rather than promoting the sale of specific products and services. The ads, created by Palmer Jarvis DDB, are featured on TV, print, billboards, posters, bill inserts and point-of-sale materials.
