Paul Sacher
Article Abstract:
Paul Sacher was a conductor and player as well as a patron of classical music. He had little love for piano music and did not like the work of some musicians such as Webern and Schoenberg. He inherited wealth and rewarded composers whose work he liked. He was also a major stockholder in Roche Holding as a result of his marriage. He liked a wide range of music and has been credited with rescuing some works which had previously been forgotten, by the composer, Mozart.
