PetroChina profit pressured by costs

PetroChina Company Ltd. of China posted second half 2006 profit slide by 13 percent to 61.54 billion Yuan from 71 billion Yuan last year. The petroleum giant is increasing production and exporation in the face of surging demand for energy resources in China.
