Ring in the new
Article Abstract:
Mobile phones can allow people to work from newlocations, and allow teenagers to call each other without adult interference. Some workers may feel too isolated if they work from home, as was shown by the experience of TBWA Chiat/Day, which encouraged workers to work from home. Mobile phones can be used by migrant families to keep in touch, and help to maintain social networks. Mobile phones are especially useful for itinerant bosses and for traveling salesmen. Blue-collar workers such as plumbers also find mobile phones especially useful.
