High-carb marketers unfazed by fad
Article Abstract:
Subway Restaurants and Borden Foods Canada are two companies that are not concerned over the popularity of low-carbohydrate and high-protein diets. Subways registered record-breaking sales in 1999, refuting the trend that these diets have caused a decline in bread consumption in North America. On the other hand, Borden Foods said it does not see the trend in low- carbohydrate diet as a deterrent in the consumption of pasta by old and new customers.
